(written April 2023)

The stars fell from
the sky.
But like ships
we did not collide
only passing each
other by.
Stars made
for wishes
I blew them
kisses every night
and hoped the next time
you saw a star
that you might think of me.
Alas, all the kisses
have now blown out
to sea.
And you and I
we are only
satellites
on a hopeless
trajectory.
