The Beach

(written March 2023)

An empty

beach, the sand littered with shells.

Left behind by the swell of an incoming tide.

An azure sky.

Gulls duck and dive

searching for any form of life

among the silt.

The air is chill despite the golden glow of the sun.

But a change has begun.

A new season

brings rejuvenation

spring has sprung.
