If by chance
you see me in tears,
do not shower me with pity.
I need pain like the earth needs rain.
It waters the garden to my creativity.
As the flow of salty grains cascades down my face
I see a shower of words.
And then later,
as the tide ebbs
I know I am home.
No longer in pain.
My ink is my shelter
always will be.
