Wounds

(written March 2023)

A bruise fades with time.
But broken hearts and minds require more than thread.
How do you stem the flow from a wound that still bleeds?
Fragments of memories
embedded.
Need to be
extracted.
Piece by piece.
There is no quick fix to heal.
No sticking plaster.
So treat with love and care.
And one day, you will see that it is no longer there.
