Heavenly Angel

(written December 2022)

I looked for you in the crowd.

I could not find you there.

You have disappeared again like a puff of smoke into the air.

I walked for miles searching for your smile, but I could find no trace.

The image of you has now begun to fade.

Then I saw a butterfly and realised I had been looking in the wrong places.

Now you are an angel with wings so beautifully displayed.

And even though you have left this earth, thoughts of you are never erased.
