The Devil Within

She sleeps alone on the cold sheets of melancholy dreams.

No one hears her songs of lament or her silent screams.

By day she walks the streets shrouded in despair.

A mistress of disguise, she covers her eyes from the light she now despises.

Darkness is her only friend, her prince and her knight.

There is no need to hide the sadness that permeates her skin in his presence, so she gives herself freely for every carnal sin.

At the break of dawn, she hides again.

Then she waits for her knight to return and alleviate her pain as he ignites the devil within.
