Painful Emotions

Painful emotions.
Hidden
out of sight.
Rise.
Then multiply.
Choke them down.
It is weak to cry.
Ignore them.
Let them lie
in the obsidian waters of your soul.
A place where only pain grows.
Years later.
A trigger.
Painful emotions rise again.
Let them surface.

Show them light and shower them with love.
Painful emotions need tender care.
There is no point in pretending they are not there.
To do so only delays your chance to heal and repair.
