The Rose

Deep in the forest, the rose grows,
a splash of red against the white.
When the wind blows, her petals scatter far and wide.
Crimson specks on a grey sky.
Winter lingers, and the rose is now barren.
Save for her thorns.
But the rose knows that spring will arrive soon.
When it does, she will once again blossom and bloom.
So she waits in the snow as another storm looms.
