Instagram Prompt Poem

(written August 22)

If I could turn you into poetry, I would make a symmetry of your name.

With metaphors and rhymes, I could then make you mine.

I would keep you forever in my heart, but I know that is only a dream because you never think of me.

I am only a faded memory without scar or wound, and my name is put away in a box labelled “never exhume”.
