My life was warm and sunny before we met, and then I became caught in your rainstorm.
I nearly drowned as your words rained down on my head.
The force of your wind blew my soul open wide.
I did not scream or cry.
All I could do was stay alive, hoping the storm would abate.
But it never did, not for long.
Now you are gone.
There are no more clouds or rain.
I never once heard you say “sorry”, but I forgive you anyway because I will not let the regret of not doing so cause another rainstorm of pain.
