I came to you as you slept.
Did you see me in your dreams?
I lay beside you, watching you breathe.
I put my head on your chest and cried silent tears,
for I know that I will never be the one you choose to be the love of your life.
Then I kissed your lips and said goodbye as I disappeared into the night.
