Last Station

(my own words)

December 2022

She seeks solace, a tiny mollusc of love or kindness.
Everyone thinks she is brave, and no one sees her pain.
A face in the crowd of people on a train,
where empathy has no name.
She is about to go off the rails.
Her wheels are misaligned.
Too proud to ask for help, or an ounce of anyone’s time.
Derailed, she crashes into the abyss, the last station on her journey and finally, she knows she has arrived home, bliss.
