Sacrifice

Too young, too naive to understand, I was your sacrificial lamb.

I slaughtered myself, and you watched as the blood ran from my veins.

I sacrificed enough for you over the years, so now I will shed no more tears.

The light is shining, although it is still weak and dim.

I will continue along this healing path until I bleed no more.

Forgiveness will be my final sacrifice to you, and then I will close that door.
