In the Shadow of my Pen: A Collection of Poetry and Prose.
I will freely admit that lately I have been feeling very frustrated and disillusioned regarding self-publishing!
I released this collection at the end of September and it is my best effort to date.
I did add some prose to this one as well.
It takes a great deal of time to prepare a collection.
And here is a little tip, one manuscript does not fit all.
What you upload to KDP will not work with Smashwords, (it took six attempts before they accepted this collection)
So yes, a lot of time, effort and pouring your heart and soul into it!
This collection only has four chapters, and as always, is a very eclectic mix,
I have marketed this book until I am blue in the face, yet I am not selling any books!
I am on every social media platform ( apart from Tik Tok ).
But nothing is generating any leads!
In comparison, a fellow poet released her “debut” collection this month and her book is selling like hot cakes!
I must add that the lady in question is worthy of success as her book is stunning!It
has illustrations as well (sadly I can’t draw).
I’m lost!
Is it my “keywords”, am I putting it in the wrong categories?
It is extremely soul destroying I can tell you!
I can’t imagine not writing now, but, when you are giving it your all with little or no results then……………
