Self-Publishing (first attempt)

Me and my Shadow

At the beginning of 2021 we were, very much still in the grips of the Corona Pandemic and we were still having “lockdowns”.

I recall one lasting 3 months, ( I have no idea how I survived that ! ).

So, with still far too much time on my hands, I began looking at the possibility of Self-publishing.

I was at that time grieving as well.

Most of the writing in “Me and My Shadow” was still centred around Corona and mental health, but there was also some references to the person that passed away.

It does not matter what kind of relationship you had with someone, if it was good, bad or indifferent, when they die, you will still grieve ( especially if you were together for a long time ).

In my case I knew the person for over twenty years.

Again, as I did feel with “The Madness of Corona”, when I look back, it is not a great collection.

I am a very honest person, so I realise I am shooting myself in the foot!

There may be a few that some can relate too.

Anyway, back to the process!

It is not hard to self-publish, just take your time!

But in advance, I would say, the covers are a nightmare!

Unsplash has millions of images which are copyright free, so use that.

Canva is also good for getting your dimensions correct!

I changed the cover of Me and My Shadow as I did not feel that it correlated to the title.

It is all a learning curve!
