My Muse

(my own words)

(OCTOBER 22)

I am my muse, my inspiration.
My pen tells my story without glory or fabrication.
As I write, I never know where my pen will take me.
But I always know it will never rebuke me.
For my ink narrates the truth, nothing but.
Sometimes its words cut, and I watch as my blood soaks the paper.
A crimson tide then escapes my mind.
It helps to alleviate the pain.
My pen knows I am not to blame for the chaos that exists.
If I try to resist the course of its journey, the words will only come back to haunt me at a later date.
I am my muse.
That is my fate.
But I will never be my downfall

because I know myself best.
And so, with this pen, I will continue to write until I draw my last breath.
